Magnesium Diboride (MgB₂) Superconductors

Hyper Tech produces and supplies MgB₂ superconducting wire for appropriate applications such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) background coils and electric power applications such as superconducting fault current limiters (FCLs). Hyper Tech’s patented process for the continuous manufacturing of MgB₂ superconducting wire enables us to supply a superior product to these market niches. In addition, collaboration with key research organizations enables Hyper Tech to continually increase the performance of the MgB₂ superconducting wire and thereby maintain a strong market position.

Hyper Tech’s ongoing research on MgB₂ superconducting wire has kept us well ahead of the competition in wire performance and multi-kilometer production lengths.

Niobium Tin (Nb₃Sn) Superconductors

In the area of low-temperature superconductors, Hyper Tech performs research on and supplies Nb₃Sn wire for high energy physics, fusion, and high field MRI systems. Supplying these markets with the lowest cost and highest performing Nb₃Sn superconductor wire possible is the stated goal for Hyper Tech. This is accomplished with innovative approaches to manufacturing the wires and electromagnets. Hyper Tech maintains the capacity for producing multikilometer lengths of Nb₃Sn.
